- Total number of doctors includes all doctors with higher medical education at the end of the year, who are employed in medical institutions, health resorts, sanitary institutions, social protection institutions, education, research institutions, personnel training institutions, in the management of healthcare institutions, etc. Until 2008, this indicator took into account both dentists with higher education and dentists with secondary medical education. Since 2008, the total number of doctors does not include dentists with secondary medical education.
NUMBER OF PARAMEDICAL PERSONNEL
- includes all persons with secondary medical education (except dentists) who are employed in medical institutions, health resorts, sanitary institutions, social protection institutions, preschool facilities, schools, orphanages, etc. at the end of the year.
HOSPITAL FACILITIES ACCOUNT FOR BEDS
- as at the end of the year, which are equipped with the necessary equipment and ready to receive patients, regardless of whether they are occupied by patients or not.
NUMBER OF OUTPATIENT CLINICS THAT PROVIDE OUTPATIENT AND CLINICAL CARE FOR POPULATION
- includes all medical facilities (clinics, outpatient clinics, dispensaries, polyclinic departments of hospitals, health centers, etc.).
DISEASE INCIDENCE IN POPULATION
- is the distribution of data on diseases by population classes before 1999 was carried out in accordance with the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Causes of Death of the Ninth Revision (1975), since 1999, the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Problems of the Tenth Revision (ICD-10).
NUMBER OF PENSIONERS
- is the total number of pensioners registered with the bodies of the Pension Fund of Ukraine and individual ministries (authorities).
CHILDREN-ORPHANS
- children whose parents are dead.
CHILDREN DEPRIVED OF PARENTAL CARE
- are children left without parental care due to deprivation of parental rights, removal of children from parents without deprivation of parental rights, recognition of parents as missing or incapable, declaring them dead, serving a sentence in prison and their stay in custody during the investigation, search for them by law enforcement agencies related to evasion of alimony and lack of information about their whereabouts, long-term illness of parents, which prevents them from performing their parental duties, as well as abandoned children, children whose parents are unknown, children abandoned by their parents and homeless children.
ADOPTION
- is acceptance of an child into the family as a daughter or son, based on a court decision.
