Lviv region in figures

Overview

During 2020, 3916 employees were involved in research and development, 46% of whom were women.
Most employees conducted research in the field of natural sciences (36,5% of the total) and technical sciences (33,3%).
Of the total number of researchers, 564 are doctors of sciences or 18,5%, 1440 are doctors of philosophy (candidates of sciences) or 47,1%.
In 2020, expenditure on research and development (R&D) amounted to UAH 494,4 million, of which two thirds were financed from the state budget.
