LABOUR FORCE
(UNTIL 2019 - ECONOMICALLY ACTIVE POPULATION)
- is population of both sexes aged 15 and older, which provided labour supply in the labour market during the surveyed week. Employed and unemployed in total make up the labour force.
LABOUR FORCE PARTICIPATION RATE
(UNTIL 2019 - ECONOMIC ACTIVITY RATE)
- is defined as a ratio (in percentage) of the number of labour force aged 15 and over to the total population of specified age, or population of the corresponding socio-demographic group.
EMPLOYED - people aged 15 and older are classified as employed if:
  during the survey reference week worked at least 1 hour as a paid employee (in cash or in-kind) directly performing the work, or in own family-run businesses.
  worked for free at an enterprise, in a business owned by a related member of the same household, or owned farm in order to sell products produced as a result of this activity
  were temporarily absent, i.e. formally had a job, own enterprise/affair, but were not at work during the survey period due to certain reasons.
EMPLOYMENT RATE - is defined as a ratio (in percentage) of the number of employed people aged 15 and over to the total population of specified age, or population of the corresponding socio-demographic group.
UNEMPLOYED (ILO) - people aged 15 and over who meet the following three conditions:   they did not work (gainful employment)
  were actively searching for a job or took concrete action to start their own business in the prior 4 weeks
  were available to start work within the next two weeks i.e. started working as an employed person or work on own enterprise in order to get payment or income.
The unemployed also include people who start working in the next two weeks; found a job, waiting for answers, etc.
UNEMPLOYMENT RATE - is defined as ratio (in percentage) of the number of unemployed people aged 15 and over to the Labour Force of specified age, or population of the corresponding socio-demographic group.
PERSONS OUTSIDE THE LABOUR FORCE - are people aged 15 and over, who during the survey reference week cannot be classified as 'employed' or 'unemployed'.
This category by the level of connection with the labour market can be classified as follows: -are seeking work but are not ready to proceed to it (available for work) in the next 2 weeks (because of illness; studying; domestic obligations; other);
-are willing to work and available for work, but not seeking a work (discouraged to find work, did not know where and how to find work, people who believe that there is no suitable work, etc.).
-do not want to work because they do not need it (pensioners; daytime students (pupils); persons who perform domestic duties, caring for children or ill family member, dependents, etc.)
PEOPLE OF WORKING AGE - in the framework of the labour force till 2012 included women aged 15-54 and men aged 15-59. In accordance with the Law of Ukraine on Measures for Legislative Support of the Pension System Reform, the population of working age starting from 2012 includes women aged 55, since 2013 - women aged 56, since 2014 - women aged 57, and since 2015 - women aged 58, and since 2016 - women aged 59.
AVERAGE MONTHLY NOMINAL WAGE - is accrual to employees in cash and in kind for time worked or work performed: tariff rates (position salaries), bonuses, surcharges, allowances, as well as other types of payment for time not worked. It includes mandatory deductions from employees' salaries: personal income tax and military duty. The nominal wage does not include: cash benefits for military personnel, privates and officers, payments made at the expense of the state social insurance fund for temporary disability, payment for the first five days of temporary disability at the expense of the company, as well as the amount of single social security tax, which is paid by the employer for compulsory state social insurance. It is calculated by dividing the accrued payroll budget of full-time employees for the reporting month (period) by the average number of full-time employees and the number of months in the period.
AVERAGE NUMBER OF FULL-TIME (REGULAR ) EMPLOYEES - includes persons who are in employment with the company and receive salary. This number does not take into account temporarily absent employees who retain their jobs (who are on maternity leave or on additional childcare leave until the children reach the age specified by law, as well as conscripts and mobilized conscripts during mobilization, for a special period), part-time and working under civil law contracts. This indicator is calculated on average for the period (month, year): for the reporting month by summing up the number of employees for each calendar day of the month, i.e. from 1 to 30 or 31, including holidays (non-working days) and weekends, and dividing the amount by the corresponding number of calendar days of the reporting month; for the year by summing up the average number of employees for all months of work in the reporting year, and dividing the amount received by the number of months (i.e. 12).
NUMBER OF HIRED EMPLOYEES - are persons who are enrolled in the enterprise by an order (decree) on hiring by the owner or head of the enterprise (institution, organization) in the reporting period.
NUMBER OF DISMISSED EMPLOYEES - all persons who left their jobs at this enterprise in the reporting period are taken into account, regardless of the reasons for dismissal.
THE TURNOVER RATIO FOR HIRING (DISMISSAL) LABOR FORCE - is calculated as the ratio of the number of hired (dismissed) to the average number of full-time employees.
REAL WAGE INDEX - characterizes the change in the purchasing power of the nominal wage in the given period compared to the wage in base period under the influence of price changes for consumer goods and services and personal income tax rates and mandatory deductions.Is defined as a ratio of the index of accrued nominal wages (excluding personal income tax and military duty) to the consumer price index over the same period.
WAGE ARREARS - is the amount of unpaid wages to all categories of employees, namely full-time employees, persons who are not in the company's nominal list - part-time and those working under civil law contracts, as well as dismissed employees. The amount in arrears is the amount that includes all cash and in-kind accruals from the payroll budget, except for mandatory deductions (personal income tax and military duty), the payment period of which has expired by the end of the month in which it is due. The data is consistent with the indicator of overdue accounts payable.
Wage arrears can be formed at the expense of the company's own funds, as well as budget funds.
